Greetings from your TACRAO Board

It is that time of year again! We are excited for our upcoming TACRAO annual meeting and conference this November!  TACRAO is ready to meet you in the beautiful city of Chattanooga. So prepare yourself to “Get A Clue” about solutions to everyday problems!  

We want you to take a plethora of information back with you to your colleagues and your institution.  This year’s TACRAO annual meeting and conference will be held at The Chattanoogan Hotel in Chattanooga, TN from November 16th through 18th.   You will not want to miss the opportunity to sharpen your professional skills, find out what’s new in higher education, and renew friendships with colleagues in our state.  

Our conference site is The Chattanoogan Hotel, a fabulous facility in the heart of Chattanooga.  The Chattanoogan is conveniently located within walking distance of the city’s museums, art galleries, retail establishments, Chattanooga restaurants and the Tennessee Aquarium.  Our Big Event on Wednesday night will be a fantastic evening of laughter and entertainment! It will take place off-site this year and we will laugh and dine over some great comedy at the Vaudeville Café Mystery Dinner Theatre.       

This year’s TACRAO service project is with the Chattanooga Community Kitchen whose primary goal is to lessen the poverty and despair among the homeless in the City of Chattanooga and to restore dignity and self-reliance to those they serve. We are reaching out to all of you who are traveling to pick up the hotel toiletries that are conveniently placed in your hotel rooms.  We just ask that if you do not use the complimentary toiletry items (such as shampoo, lotion, soap, etc.) to gather them for this year’s annual TACRAO conference. We will be donating the toiletry items to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen. This is an inexpensive way to help donate items to the homeless in the Chattanooga area.  If you do not travel please consider starting to gather a few toiletry items over the next few months to bring with you to this year’s conference. (There is plenty of time to get them on sale or at a dollar store.) For more information about items that can be donated please visit www.homelesschattanooga.org.

Door Prizes

Remember to pack those door prizes! Each attendee is encouraged to bring at least one college logo item to be used as a door prize during the conference wrap-up session.

Service Project
