Session 2.4 How Advanced Placement Credit Policies Balance Institutional Needs: What is best for the institution and fair to students?
Memphis

In 2007, the AP program served more than 1.4 million students nationally, including 17,256 students from Tennessee through college-level examinations. In this session, we will discuss how strong AP credit and placement policies enable institutions to attract a diverse group of motivated students through a variety of ways. This session will discuss the latest validity research that supports the strong relationship between AP participation and performance and college performance and graduation. Additionally, we will discuss how institutional AP credit and placement policies influence enrollment strategies and decisions, and assist in meeting institutional objectives. Lastly, we will discuss the release of the AP Course Audit Ledger and its possible uses for enrollment managers.
