Packet & Information |
Greetings from your
President! What city has it all? Where can you visit and find yourself:
IN MEMPHIS, OF COURSE! There’s nowhere on earth quite like Memphis. And this year’s TACRAO Annual Meeting and Conference will be in the heart of it all. Our conference is scheduled for November 14-16 at the Memphis Marriott Downtown, and you’ll have a rockin’ good time with your colleagues during the conference. Dig out your blue suede shoes and join us! Our Big Event will be held at – where else?- Graceland! We’ll feast on some great Memphis BBQ, fried chicken, and all the fixin’s! Then, you’ll be able to step into Elvis’ life: walk through his mansion, his car museum, the Lisa Marie and Hound Dog 2 airplanes, and the Sincerely Elvis exhibit. Like last year, our opening act will be a Guidance Counselors’ Workshop and Reverse College Fair with high school guidance counselors from the Memphis and surrounding areas. Then the conference continues with the main act of various sessions geared toward recruiting, admission and records and our annual meeting after the luncheon on Thursday. This year’s TACRAO service project is with the Memphis Literacy Council. Reaching young children at an early age and encouraging them to read helps prepare them for a promising future that includes higher education. We are collecting children’s books (both new and gently used) to donate. Please bring one, two, or more books that are appropriate for children ages birth through 6 years old. You’ll be all shook up if you miss this conference! Send in your registration and make your hotel reservations today! See you in Memphis! Vanessa
