The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications and nominations for the position of Admissions Counselor located in our Memphis Office.

The Enrollment Management division is comprised of 140 full-time staff who serve our students through five departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, One Stop Express Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, the University Registrar and Strategic Enrollment Reporting and Analysis.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Regional Admissions Counselor will manage a geographic area to recruit freshman students, transfer students and to provide customer service to the area, This position entails establishing strong working relationships with guidance counselors, recruiting non-minority and minority students, identifying and attracting high ability students, talking and meeting with prospects (students) , parents, contacting faculty/staff to assist with inquiry and recruitment process and directing and designing community programs for constituents. Working with area UTK alumni to assist in the recruitment of students for admissions to the university. This position works closely with the Associate Director and the Knoxville Office on recruitment trips from Memphis. Responsibilities will require weekend and evening hours.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Professional experience in admissions, counseling, or advising at a regionally accredited college or university is advantageous. Ability to give oral presentations, attention to detail, and well developed writing, listening and interpersonal skills is necessary. Should be open to working with new technologies to enhance recruitment. Ability to travel individually to in and out-of-state locations and to lift, transport and distribute objects that exceed 40 pounds is required.
