|Job Summary||Responsible to the Associate Director of Admissions for Recruitment representing ETSU to a diverse group of freshmen, transfer, and returning students; recruitment of prospective students in a specified territory; coordinating high school and community college visitation programs and events; incorporating formal and informal presentations and public speaking engagements with high school and community college counselors and advisors, administrators, students and parents, supporting student retention, and performing other duties as assigned. The Regional Admissions Counselor serves as the primary contact and recruiter for Nashville Metro and Middle Tennessee high schools and community colleges for prospective and admitted students. Serves as a point of contact, guide and information source for students throughout the admissions and enrollment process. Conducts follow up with students using direct mailings, telephone calls, electronic communication, social media, information sessions and other outreach opportunities and focused admission events, etc.|
|Knowledge, Skills and Abilities||
|Required Qualifications||Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree; Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills; Availability to attend events during evenings and weekends, travel and stay overnight, and commute to main campus as needed. Selected candidate must reside in the Metro Nashville, Tennessee area; posses a valid driver’s license; official transcripts required upon hire.|
|Preferred Qualifications||Master’s degree preferred; two to three years experience working on a college admissions counseling staff or other comparable collegiate /business experience preferred; experience with or knowledge about East Tennessee State University, or higher education in Tennessee preferred. Experience in marketing, recruitment, admissions and/or related experience is preferred.
Must be able to load and transport admissions materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Regularly spend extended periods standing; may be required to kneel and twist.
