Job Summary Responsible to the Associate Director for evaluating and approving transfer credit from other institutions with regard to incoming students; developing curriculum outlines for transfer programs; working with academic officers from partnering community colleges in the transfer process; coordinating work flow; providing leadership and direction to support staff; and performing other related duties as assigned.Coordinates transfer and readmission process; oversees distribution of the work flow for the evaluation of transcripts and admissions decisions of both transfer students and readmission students as well as the entry of these applications and transcript evaluations into the SISsystem.

Determines and posts Advanced Placement credit, CLEP credit, military credit, retro-credit, and other exam credit other than the university’s own challenge exam credit.

Integrates ETSU policies into the transfer process; clarifies policy and guidelines and any related effects.

Determines transferability of individual courses from other colleges and universities.

Keeps current on all new courses, course description changes, course deletions, and course number changes for ETSU and all of the automated systems’ schools in Banner; keeps up with the General Education core of ETSU and equates other articulated schools courses of ETSU’s core.

Determines the equivalencies of transfer courses in consultation with colleges and universities and ETSU faculty.

Manages transfer database; enters all required data into the Banner and maintains data.

Tests and debugs changes to ensure all programs needed in the transfer and readmission process produce evaluations, reports, etc., correctly.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Determines courses that would be required for the holder of a bachelor’s degree to earn a second bachelor’s degree program at ETSU(includes students who have earned their degree at another institution or at ETSU); notifies students, appropriate academic department, and financial aid office after determination of required courses is completed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of university policies and procedures.Knowledge of university admission requirements.

Knowledge of university courses and programs including course content and equivalencies from a variety of other colleges and universities.

Knowledge of the Student Information System (SIS) and its role in the admissions and articulation processes.

Ability to integrate university policies into the transfer process.

Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.

Ability to evaluate college level degree credit courses.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to supervise and train staff.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; two years of related experience.
