The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN, is accepting applications for Admissions Counselor.

Essential Functions: Reports to the Director of Admissions and serves as a member of the Admissions Office team while managing a recruitment territory and working toward achieving the enrollment goals of the University. Travels extensively (both daytime and overnight) to visit high schools and community colleges across the state of TN inaddition to events in border states as needed. Responsibilities include making presentations twice daily to groups of various sizes both on and off campus, giving tours for the Campus VIP program, organizing and/or participating in recruiting  events. Counselors are a vital source of information for all prospective students, parents, guidancecounselors, and departments across campus. Required to build and nurture relationships with prospective students via social media, email, phone calls, and in-person.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Strong interpersonal skills. A valid driver’s license and the willingness and ability to travel as needed (daytime, nighttime and weekends). Experienceworking with high school and/or college students. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work responsibly without supervision, both individually and within a team environment. Ability to establish immediaterapport and to communicate effectively with prospective students, parents, high school guidance counselors, andother staff on campus. Must have a high level of energy; be enthusiastic, outgoing, driven and self-motivated. Musthave a comprehensive understanding of software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and know fundamental concepts of computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in customer service, public speaking, public relations, marketing, writing, orguidance/education/counseling areas. Experience coordinating projects and/or events.  Experience utilizing a CRM and various social media outlets.

Salary & BenefitsCommensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD40. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen (13) Universityholidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional  401k,  and educational benefits.
